Initially unveiled at Men’s Paris Fashion Week in January 2017,
Louis Vuitton and Supreme made history with a collaborative capsule that became available exclusively at Louis Vuitton pop-up locations in Sydney, Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing, Paris, London, Miami and Los Angeles, on June 30th 2017. Unveiling a host of limited items – one the most rare and limited of all is certainly the Louis Vuitton x Supreme Malle Courrier Trunk Monogram 90 “Red.” The Malle Courrier Trunk has solidified itsels in History, after all Louis Vuitton was only 16 years old when he moved to Paris to become an apprentice trunk maker. His Malle trunk was the first to feature a flat top and bottom, making it stackable and more easily transportable. The trunks would become the foundation of his self-titled company, and they’ve been a Louis Vuitton mainstay since 1858. The Louis Vuitton x Supreme Malle Courrier Trunk Monogram 90 “Red” was a made-to-order item from the collaboration, featuring Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram in Supreme’s iconic “Red” colourway. This piece is coated in fabric and cowhide leather trim with man-made lining. The Trunk is printed with the serial number, fabricator name and monogram, alongside location of manufacture. “You can’t have the conversation of New York men’s wear without Supreme right now, because it’s such a massive global phenomenon… I just feel that the strength of their graphic versus the strength of the Louis Vuitton graphic, and that kind of Pop Art feeling — it works together perfectly.” Said Kim Jones. The official press release cited names including Jean Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol as inspiration behind the range. This piece is pre-owned, in perfect condition.
