On March 26th 1987, Nike debuted its first sneaker showcasing Air technology through a visible window: The Air Max 1. Exactly 34 years later, Nike commemorated that innovative breakthrough with Air Max Day – and what better way to celebrate than with a reboot of the iconic design? The Nike Air Max 1 “Evolution of Icons” fuses features from a host of historic OGs with the classic silhouette. Released March 26th 2021 the eclectic colourway drips in mismatched colour-blocking and other inconspicuous elements to commemorate timeless styles, including the Air Max 1 “University Red”, Air Max 95 “Neon”, Air Max 96 “Scream Green” and Air Max 97 “Metallic Silver”. A graphic on the heel tab marks the date for Air Max Day, while visuals on the insole illustrate the full list of inspirational predecessors. So fire!
