Released April 28th 2021, luxury boutique A Ma Maniere joined Jordan brand to reveal a stunning collaboration on the Air Jordan 3 silhouette, exclusively in women’s sizes. “The inspiration around the A Ma Maniere 3 was actually rooted in my first experience with Jordan Brand. The 3 was the first shoe my Mum ever bought me so it was interesting to have the opportunity to be able to tell a story about her” recalled Whitner. Dripped in premium tumbled leather and suede, a luxury quilted interior lines the sneaker. “The AJ3 is a classic so what can we do to make it lean a little more towards luxury?” Said Whitner. “One of my personal favourite materials is this luxurious nappy suede so I think it was a no-brainer for us to just get rid of the elephant print and move in the nappy suede.” A Ma Maniere branding can be found on the left tongue and right insole, while lettering on the lace tips read “WORK HARDER” – the brands mantra in which they live by. Additional lettering on the inside of the heel guard on the right shoe reads “you have to get comfortable walking alone” and “all we have is each other” on the left heel guard. “The part about it that my Mum influenced was, growing up there were always these things she always said to us even when we fought. It’s actually in her handwriting on the back of the heel tabs.” These sneakers come complete with a super dope shoe box featuring a plastic cover dripped in A Ma Maniere’s monogram branding all over.
