Released September 19th 2020, the Nike SB Dunk Low x Instant Skateboards is dripped in premium leather. The dog is inspired by Japan’s unofficial landmark, the Hachiko statue in Shibuya. Paying homage to a faithful Akita named Hachiko who, in 1920, would accompany his owner to Shibuya Station every day, and come back every afternoon to greet him upon his return from work. In 1925 Professor Ueno died while at the University in which he worked, leaving Hachiko to continue to wait for his owner at the the Station until he died 10 years later. His death made headlines, and he was cremated and buried next to his beloved owner. These sneakers are a dope tribute!
