Through the revolutionary NikeCraft project, Nike and Tom Sachs created the Mars Yard, a shoe designed for space explorers and scientists that had visions of setting foot on the red planet. The shoe broke barriers and hype saw prices sky rocket. Released September 1st 2022, the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe WMNS "Archive” is an everyday-use silhouette that continues the NikeCraft mindset of finding new perspectives of serving athletes, artists, and everyone in-between. Dripped in a mesh upper, The General Purpose Shoe has some similar elements to the Mars Yard and Mars Yard 2.0; durable and stylish, the GPS shoe is breathable enough for regular use while being protective against a few drops of rain. “Dark Sulfur” accents pop on the silhouette, while a three-piece moulded cup sole provides the comfort and stability. All in all, the GPS’ engineering and materials are chosen to provide comfort, support and a high degree of tactile sensation in a well-priced product. The promotional advertising for the shoe read:
